Through the record label Dust-to-Digital and the archive the International Library of African Music, I released a two CD set of music from eastern and central Africa called Listen All Around. The 82-page booklet that comes with the CDs discusses the political and cultural issues that gave rise to a vibrant array of musical forms during this golden age of music. There are also notes on all 47 tracks that appear in the collection. Here are a few excerpts of reviews for the collection, which can be ordered online through Dust-to-Digital. Anybody interested in the earlier roots of the great East and Central African electric band musics of later years needs this killer set in its beautiful clothing" Ian Anderson, fRoots. |
